All we need is love...





Loving God, your neighbor and yourself characterizes someone who is already living his or her life in God’s kingdom. The promise of inheritance to the eternal life is now attached to a demand: “Go and do likewise.”
Go and do likewise translates … “Be an active neighbor.”  Go in peace to love and serve. Each one of us experiences glimpses of God’s kingdom within ourselves. When I had the opportunity to look at a human being in need of my help. I experienced Christ within me. I felt compassion for him. That feeling that comes from inside my guts. He was visible to me. He was acknowledged even in his poor physical condition. We connected in our humanity and it didn’t matter anymore he was someone who had trouble walking. What it matter to me was his dignity. He taught me a lesson. He affirmed my calling. He looked at me and I was visible to him. He acknowledged me. We were connected through experiencing the Kingdom of God within ourselves.
What should last for each one of us has to do with staying in tune with that glimpse of the Kingdom of God within ourselves. We should claim that love that abides within ourselves loving God and our neighbor, especially our neighbor in need. I want to leave you with these words of wisdom from poet, activist and writer Maya Angelou:
People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.”
